Site Summary
This ONFARM site is a dairy operation with the best management practice (BMP) comparison of using an organic amendment (liquid dairy manure) and multi-species cover crops. The field site is a level floodplain landscape on a clay soil. The soil health goals are to optimize soil management by incorporating manure into a rotation to reduce fertility inputs and improve productivity.
2020: Spring wheat under minimum tillage followed by manure and/or a cover crop mix
2021: Corn under minimum tillage followed by a cover crop
2022: Soybeans under no-till management
